Cork College of Commerce is a college that was established by the business and education communities on the banks of the River Lee in Cork, Ireland in 1908. The College is today the largest Post-Leaving Certificate (PLC) college in Ireland.
ince 1991, when the last of its secondary school students finished their Leaving Certificate examinations, the College has focused on its role as a dedicated college of further education. Running both full time day courses, and a night school, the College offers hundreds of courses across computing, business studies, office administration, applied languages, health studies, beauty therapy, complementary therapy, childcare and Montessori, fashion, travel and tourism, adult Leaving Certificate, professional courses, leisure courses, repeat for honours, and general interest courses.
Indeed, while the State non-fee paying schools, such as the Cork College of Commerce, have continued to dominate the third-level feeder schools league tables, ninety per cent of repeat Leaving Certificate students from the Cork College of Commerce have continued on to third level.
