Unconfirmed reports are circulating that a group of anti-Civil Partnerhip organisations will protest at the Dublin Pride Parade next weekend.
Chair of Dublin Pride, Oisín O’Reilly says that the Parade’s organisers are prepared in case of protest.
"As part of the normal planning process for each Pride Festival we continually liaise with the Gardaí and other agencies and we shall raise the matter with them in the course of normal planning," he said.
"Pride is a celebration of equality, diversity and our commemoration of the Stonewall Riots, and we will be disappointed if protests happen," he added. "However, we respect everyone’s right to have an opinion and protest."
Dublin Pride takes place on Saturday June 26, gathering at The Gardens of Remembrance on Parnell Square at 2pm, for more information visit www.dublinpride.org
