Trinity Regatta is an annual regatta first held in 1866 and is the largest sporting event hosted by the university. Originally raced on the Liffey in Dublin’s Docklands, the regatta has been held in Islandbridge every year since 1898, excluding a brief interlude from 1915-1921 as a result of the First World War. An institution of Irish rowing, Trinity Regatta is famed for its thrilling two-lane racing and vibrant social scene.
